What is e-way bill registration?
e-Way bill registration is the process of enrolling your GSTIN on the GSTN e-way bill portal so you can generate e-way bills for your consignments. Every GST-registered person - whether a consignor (sender), consignee (receiver), or transporter - must register separately on the e-way bill portal.
The registration process links your GSTIN (obtained from the common GSTN portal) to the e-way bill system. Once registered, you can log in to the e-way bill portal using your GSTN credentials and start generating e-way bills immediately.
For transporters, a separate enrolment called GSTM (GSTIN for Transporter) registration is required. GSTM enrolment gives transporters a unique transporter ID that can be used in Part-B of e-way bills. Transporters can also generate consolidated e-way bills for carrying multiple consignments in a single vehicle.
Register yourself vs through us
The GSTN registration process is free and straightforward, but state-wise enrolment and transporter GSTM registration add complexity.

Consignor, consignee, transporter: three types of registration
- Consignor registration. The consignor is the person sending the goods. They register their GSTIN on the e-way bill portal and generate e-way bills from their account. This is the most common registration type for manufacturers, traders, and e-commerce sellers.
- Consignee registration. The consignee is the person receiving the goods. They can register on the e-way bill portal and generate e-way bills on behalf of the consignor if the consignor is unregistered or authorises the consignee to do so. This is common in B2B transactions where the buyer manages logistics.
- Transporter (GSTM) registration. A transporter carrying goods for others must obtain a GSTM (GSTIN for Transporter) enrolment. This gives them a unique 15-digit transporter ID used in Part-B of e-way bills. Transporters with GSTM can also generate consolidated e-way bills for multiple consignments carried in the same vehicle.
Common e-way bill registration mistakes
Registering with an inactive or suspended GSTIN
We verify GSTIN status on the common GSTN portal before registration. If your GSTIN is inactive, we advise on revival first.
Using a GSTIN that is less than 24 hours old
Newly issued GSTINs may take up to 24 hours to propagate to the e-way bill portal. We check the issue date and advise accordingly.
Not registering separately for each state of operation
e-Way bill registration is state-wise. If you operate in Maharashtra and Karnataka, you must register separately for both states. We handle multi-state registration efficiently.
Transporters forgetting GSTM enrolment
Transporters need a separate GSTM enrolment to generate consolidated e-way bills. We remind transporters to complete GSTM enrolment alongside regular registration.
Forgetting login credentials after registration
We share the login credentials securely and recommend storing them in a password manager. We also offer ongoing management so you never need to log in.
Every rejection above has a fix - most come down to how the innovation note is written, not the business itself. Most applicants don't know that until after the rejection.
If you have already been rejected, or want to make sure it does not happen, the 15-minute call below is the fastest path.

Why register for e-way bills through us
Frequently asked questions
e-Way bill registration is the process of enrolling your GSTIN on the GSTN e-way bill portal so you can generate e-way bills for your consignments. There are three types of registration: consignor (sender), consignee (receiver), and transporter (GSTM enrolment). Each must register separately.
Every GST-registered person involved in the movement of goods must register on the e-way bill portal. This includes: consignors (manufacturers, traders, sellers), consignees (buyers receiving goods), transporters (carrying goods for others), and e-commerce operators and their logistics partners.
The GSTN portal charges no fee for e-way bill registration - it is free. Our professional fee starts at 499 for single GSTIN registration, 799 for transporter GSTM enrolment, and 1,499 for a multi-state package covering up to 5 states.
GSTM (GSTIN for Transporter) is a separate enrolment on the e-way bill portal for transporters. It gives the transporter a unique 15-digit transporter ID used in Part-B of e-way bills. Transporters with GSTM can also generate consolidated e-way bills for carrying multiple consignments in one vehicle.
Yes. e-Way bill registration is state-wise. If your GSTIN is registered in multiple states, you must register separately on the e-way bill portal for each state. Our multi-state package handles this efficiently.
Unregistered persons cannot generate e-way bills directly. However, they can generate e-way bills through a registered transporter who acts on their behalf. Alternatively, the recipient (if registered) can generate the e-way bill.
Registration is typically completed the same day for active GSTINs. The process takes 10-15 minutes on the GSTN portal. If the GSTIN is newly issued (less than 24 hours old), it may take up to 24 hours for activation. Multi-state registration takes additional time.
A consolidated e-way bill is used by transporters carrying goods for multiple consignors in a single vehicle. The transporter generates one consolidated e-way bill listing all individual EWB numbers. This requires a GSTM enrolment. We set up consolidated e-way bills as part of the transporter registration package.
You use the same GSTN portal username and password that you use for the common GST portal. The e-way bill portal shares the same authentication system. If you do not have GSTN credentials, you must first register on the common GST portal.
No. A valid GSTIN is mandatory for e-way bill registration. If you do not have a GSTIN, you must first obtain one through GST registration. We offer GST registration services - contact us for details.
e-Way bill registration will fail if your GSTIN is suspended, cancelled, or inactive on the common GSTN portal. You must first resolve the GSTIN status. We advise on GSTIN revival and can help with the process.
Yes, as a registered transporter with a valid GSTM enrolment, you can generate e-way bills on behalf of your clients. You will need their GSTIN and consignment details. Our transporter registration package includes guidance on managing client consignments.
No. Once your GSTIN is registered and activated on the e-way bill portal, the registration remains active indefinitely, subject to your GSTIN remaining active on the common GSTN portal. If your GSTIN is cancelled or suspended, your e-way bill access will also be revoked.
After registration, you can immediately start generating e-way bills. We recommend: (1) exploring the portal interface, (2) generating a test e-way bill, (3) setting up Part-B for your regular transporter, and (4) keeping your credentials secure. We offer ongoing e-way bill management starting from 2,499/month.
If the value of goods you move exceeds 50,000, you must register and generate an e-way bill. If your consignments are consistently below the threshold, registration is not mandatory. However, we recommend registering proactively - there is no cost and it avoids compliance issues.
